'Elo peepz...
I'm just here to share this poem I got from one of my fave writers,
Pablo Neruda
You might remember this from the movie Patch Adams, wherein Robin Williams read the poem to his wife/girlfriend (bear with me folks, I can't remember...) before she met an accident (she got murdered by one of their patients). Anyways, it's a really good movie so if you haven't seen it, then do so.
As for the poem, here it is...
SONNET XVII
Pablo Neruda
I do not love you as if you were a salt rose, or topaz
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.
I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
So I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.
Happy Valentines Day!
-----====-----
As for me, I'm off to prepare for the inevitable tomorrow. Inasmuch as I don't like the idea of celebrating Valentines Day, I have to do so because...
drumroll please...
Yes folks, tomorrow will be
Lloyd and I's fifth year of shall we say,
chaotic togetherness... and No, we did not choose the 14th of Feb as our anniversary, technically... it so happened that he asked me out on that day, with neither of us having an idea that it was Valentines Day.... *
coughlyingcough*
Hmmm... I guess i have to explain that maybe tomorrow...
We still don't know if we can celebrate that on V-Day itself, because both of us have commitments on that day... (he has hospital duty, I have classes)
<---sad---
Anyways, I just hope we can sort this thing out maybe later... or else i might be watching Constantine alone (in case it is shown here in the Phil by tomorrow...). On the other hand, I stil have to finish my lesson plans and class records.
Sometimes, being a teacher is a pain in the neck...
